LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) is asking for the public’s help to identify the driver of a vehicle who deliberately damaged the Pride Crosswalk.

On August 25, 2023 at approximately 12:49 a.m, an LPS officer patrolling downtown said they witnessed a truck perform a burn out over the Pride Crosswalk near Galt Gardens, causing damage to the paint.

Police said when the officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop, the truck fled at high speeds and was last seen heading westbound on Highway 3 out of the city.

Police canvassed downtown businesses in search of video, but could not get sufficient images to release to the public.

The vehicle is described as a 2012-2014 grey Ford F-150 with black pin striping across the body and a loud aftermarket exhaust.

LPS is considering the incident a hate-motivated crime and are asking anyone who may information to come forward.

Anyone who recognizes the description of the vehicle or has any other information that could assist investigators in identifying the driver, is asked to call police at 403-328-4444.
