Kodiaks name student-athletes of the week

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge College Kodiaks have named their most recent student-athletes of the week.

Rae Vanden Dungen is a fifth year student in the Early Childhood Education program. Vanden Dungen led the Kodiaks this past weekend. The team defeated the University of Alberta-Augustana Vikings 8-0 on September 23, 2024, and beat Medicine Hat College (MHC) Rattlers 2-1 on September 24.

The Vauxhall soccer star scored three goals on 12 shots over the two games, and picked up an assist against the Vikings on September 24, 2023.

Joel Mcleod, a second year Business Operations student from Medicine Hat was also named a student-athlete of the week. He was awarded player of the game against the MHC Rattlers on September 24 in a 2-1 victory for the Kodiaks.

Kodiaks soccer has dominated the Athletic Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC). Through four weeks of the season, both the men’s and women’s teams are undefeated, and continue to climb the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) rankings. The women moved up to fifth in the CCAA rankings, while the men sit at eighth.
