TABER, AB – A Taber man has been charged in connection with a break, enter and theft.

The Taber Police Service (TPS) said on September 27, 2023, at approximately 7 a.m., officers responded to a report of a break, enter and theft at a business in the 5600 block of 66 Avenue.

Police said earlier the same day, at around 12:40 a.m., two men entered the business and stole an undisclosed amount of cash, tools and other property.

The police service later executed a search warrant in the 5900 block of 64 Avenue. Officials said police recovered some of the stolen property, as well as a bicycle that was reported to be stolen.

On September 28, 41-year-old Jason Sean Cranston, of Taber, was arrested and charged with break, enter and theft, as well as possession of stolen property.

Cranston was remanded into custody following a Judicial Interim Release Hearing. He is due in Taber court on October 3. Police said the investigation is ongoing to identify a second suspect.
