Hurricanes’ Matt Anholt named assistant coach for U17 tournament

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Lethbridge Hurricanes assistant coach Matt Anholt will take his talents to the international stage.

Anholt has been named an assistant coach for the 2023 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge. He will be an assistant for Team Canada Red.

This year marks the second consecutive year a member of the Hurricanes coaching staff has represented Canada at the Under-17 level. Last year, Hurricanes video coach Ryan Aasman served in the same role for Team Canada Red in Langley and Delta, British Columbia.

Anholt is in his sixth season with the Lethbridge Hurricanes coaching staff, and his third as assistant coach and assistant general manager. He was previously the skills and development coach for the team.

The 2023 tournament will be held from November 2 to 11, in Charlottetown and Summerside, Prince Edward Island.
