LETHBRIDGE, AB – Three Lethbridge Hurricanes had multi-point nights, and Harrison Meneghin stopped all 22 shots he faced as the Canes took down the defending Western Hockey League champion Seattle Thunderbirds on Wednesday, October 26, 2023.

The scoring started just over halfway into the first period when Kooper Gizowski scored his first of two goals in the game, assisted by Hurricanes captain Joe Arntsen and Dustin Renas.

A little over a minute later at the 11:23 mark, Elias Knoester scored his first goal as a Lethbridge Hurricane from Arntsen and Trae Wilke. Gizowski scored his second goal of the game shortly after to make it 3-0.

In the second period, Tyson Zimmer netted his fifth goal of the season from Chase Pauls and Knoester.

Leo Braillard also scored his first goal as a Hurricane in the third period, giving him five points in his first three games with the team. Brayden Edwards and Tristen Doyle picked up the assist on Braillard’s tally.

Gizowski and Knoester were named the game’s first and second stars respectively, while Meneghin was named the third star for his second shutout of the year.

The Hurricanes will next take on the Calgary Hitmen on Friday, October 27 at the ENMAX Centre. Seattle will travel to Swift Current to take on the Broncos.
