Oct 27, 2023 | 11:28 AM

RED DEER, AB – Alberta Grains is seeking nominations for its inaugural board of directors.

This after the amalgamation of the Alberta Wheat and Barley Commissions.

The organization is inviting farmers from all six growing regions in Alberta to nominate themselves or fellow farmers for one of 12 open director positions, or the 24 delegate positions.

To be eligible for a director or delegate position, candidates must have:

  • grown or sold wheat or barley,
  • paid a check-off to the Alberta Wheat Commission or Alberta Barley in the current or previous two fiscal years; and
  • produced at least one of these crops within the region they intend to represent

Nominators must reside or farm in the same region as the nominee. Nomination forms are required for DIRECTOR nominations and must be submitted to the Alberta Grains office via email, mail, or fax by the end of the day on October 31, 2023.

If you would like to be nominated as a DELEGATE, make sure you attend your region’s Regional Meeting and have someone from the floor submit your nomination.
