LETHBRIDGE, AB – Lethbridge Family Services (LFS) launched the 2023 Angel Tree campaign on Tuesday, November 14, 2023.

The LFS Angel Tree campaign has seen team members create gift bundles for babies, children, and youth around the region. 2023 marks the 31st year of the campaign, and officials estimate they will be helping around 3,800 children.

Volunteers will make bundles from collected items, which will contain:

  • Something on the recipient’s wish list
  • Something inspirational to fuel their imaginations
  • Something educational to nourish their minds
  • Something warm and fuzzy

Avonlea Homes partnered with LFS, and donated over $19,000 for the 2023 campaign. This year, Avonlea Homes Customer Experience Manager Ron Tyslau said over 800 toys will be donated to kids for 2023.

Campaign co-chair Karen Nemeth said, “A truly charitable heart recognizes the connectedness of all humanity, and understands that we all matter to each other, regardless of how our lives are different.”

She added, “It’s heartwarming to watch as our southern Alberta community comes together with donations and funding to bless the lives of our children.”

The fundraising goal for Angel Tree 2023 is set at $180,000, and they are looking for 500 volunteers to help out.

Information about donating and volunteering can be found at the LFS website.
