LETHBRIDGE, AB – For the third consecutive year, Lethbridge’s Interfaith Food Bank has been named a top 10 impact food bank by Charity intelligence. This is the second honour the food bank has received in the last month. In October, it was named a 5-Star Top 100 Charity.

The Top 10 Impact: Canadian Food Banks list is composed of 10 Canadian food banks that have demonstrated the highest value created per dollar spent.

Danielle McIntyre, Executive Director with Interfaith Food Bank said, “It is an absolute honour to have work recognized this way.”

She continued, “It speaks to the impact to the families we serve, and the return on investment to donors looking to ensure their donations are truly making a difference.”

There are over 4,750 hunger relief organizations in Canada, with more than 100 food banks in Alberta alone.

Greg Thomson, Director of Research at Charity Intelligence said, “Some charities create a lot of change with the donations given to them. Others have almost nothing to show for the money coming from donors.”

He continued, “Of the 300 Canadian charities analyzed for impact, those on the Top 10 list have the highest measurable demonstrated impact. Charity Intelligence calculates Top 10 Impact Charities deliver average returns of roughly six dollars for every dollar donated, compared with overall average charity returns of only about 1.5 dollars.”
