LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) has charged two men with drug trafficking offences in separate incidents downtown.

On November 6, 2023, members of the Downtown Policing Unit responded to a report of a male selling drugs along the 300 block of 4 Street South.

Police located a male matching the subject’s description a short time later, and a search resulted in the seizure of 23 packages of fentanyl and methamphetamine, along with a small quantity of cash and proceeds of crime.

Christopher Francis Quebec, 51, of Lethbridge, is charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of the proceeds of crime. He was released from custody and will appear in court on January 11, 2024.

Three days later on November 9, members of the Downtown Policing Unit responded to a report of a theft from a downtown store.

An investigation led to officers arresting a man who police said was in possession of some of the stolen property as well as multiple packages of fentanyl.

William Douglas John Ewen-Potter, 27, is charged with one count each of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of stolen property. He is scheduled to appear in court on January 26.
