LETHBRIDGE, AB – The City of Lethbridge is closing down its yard waste sites for the season.

Sunday, November 19, 2023 is the final day the three yard waste sites will be open this year, and the sites will close the following day.

This year, the sites have collected a total of 1,326,760 kilograms of yard waste, which was diverted from the landfill.

Grass, leaves and garden waste collected at yard waste sites is composted at the Waste & Recycling Centre’s Organic Processing Facility along with the organic material collected through the Green Cart Collection Program.

Residents will still be able to take their grass, leaves and garden waste material to the Waste & Recycling Centre for composting, for no disposal fee charges on Saturdays.

The City of Lethbridge recycling stations will remain open year-round.
