Wind warning issued for southwestern Alberta

CARDSTON, AB – Environment Canada said it will be especially windy.

It has issued a wind warning for several communities in the southwestern corner fo the province, including Cardston, Carway, Crowsnest Pass, Del Bonita, Fort Macleod, Glenwood, Hill Spring, Pincher Creek, and Waterton Lakes National Park.

The weather forecaster said strong winds with gusts up to 100 kilometres per hour will be felt throughout the morning of Tuesday, November 21, 2023. The winds should gradually weaken throughout the afternoon and evening.

“Damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows, may occur. Loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage,” said Environment Canada.

Although Lethbridge is not covered under the wind warning, Environment Canada is still calling for wind gusts up to 80 km/hour on Tuesday.
