JOHN JOSEPH LEWICKI, beloved husband of Marielle Lewicki, of Lethbridge, AB, passed away at the St. Michael’s Palliative Care Unit on Friday, October 6, 2023 at the age of 73 years.

He is the loving father of Sarah (Jason) Carrier and grandpa to Tye and Kale, of Lethbridge, AB; father of Evan (Rhegan) Lewicki and grandpa to Lynkyn and Sully, of Lethbridge, AB; stepfather to Chris (Terri) McGinnis and grandpa to Carson, Mitch, and Jordy, of Airdrie, AB; and stepfather to Danielle (Brady) Shock and grandpa to Georgia and Jude, of Saskatoon, SK. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was predeceased by his mother Joan, father John, and sister Elaine.

John was a lover of life and lived life to the absolute fullest. His family, as well as friends who became his family, were of the utmost importance to John. That was evident by his everyday life. When he retired in 2020, he and Marielle sold their lakefront property in Manitoba, to move to Lethbridge and be closer to his children, his stepchildren, and all of his grandchildren.

Unfortunately, in November of 2021, John was diagnosed with cancer, one short year after his move to Lethbridge. He battled hard for just short of two years. John’s memory will live on through all the amazing memories that he has helped create with his friends and family. There was never a dull moment when John was present. Never ceasing to make everyone laugh, eat, and stay for one more drink. His nickname “Johnny Boy” and his favourite three words “dirty dog licker”, will live on through everyone he loved and left behind. John will be sorely missed, but undoubtedly never forgotten.
