Wood’s Homes participating in Giving Tuesday

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Organizations across the globe are celebrating Giving Tuesday.

The initiative on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 is the world’s largest generosity movement and encourages people to lend a helping hand to their neighbour and give back to the community.

Wood’s Homes is one of the many groups marking the occasion. The non-profit operates youth shelters in Lethbridge, Calgary and Fort McMurray.

Carrie Dahl is the Fund Development Coordinator with Wood’s Homes. She said that all donations made to Wood’s Homes on Giving Tuesday will be matched, up to $40,000.

Dahl said, “Considering that winter is the most dangerous time for young people experiencing homelessness, support is more important now than ever.”

Dahl added, “We have the emergency youth shelter here in Lethbridge that provides eight beds for youth that are facing homelessness or have become homeless, so all of the money that is raised today in Lethbridge will be going to support the services offered by the CORE as well as the other programming that Wood’s Homes offers.”

Those wishing to donate can do so online or by visiting the Wood’s Homes office in Lethbridge at 312 3 Street South.
