23 Days of Christmas campaign returns to Lethbridge

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Meals on Wheels “23 Days of Christmas” campaign is back in Lethbridge for 2023.

This year marks the 15th year of the honorary chef and Christmas card fundraising initiative, and is put on by Select People Solutions and Teamworks Career Centre.

Businesses, community groups, and individuals can support this campaign by becoming honorary chefs and sponsoring either a full day ($1,000) or half day ($500) of meals.

In addition, those looking to get involved can purchase a gift card to either the Italian Table or Cuppers Coffee & Tea, and the companies will donate the cost of one hot meal per card sold.

Ryan Miller, President of Teamwork Training Ltd said, “It’s more than just a hot meal, these services provide the opportunity for people to visit and ensure recipients are doing ok. The work this organization does is a treasure to our community.”

For 2023, the fundraising goal has been set at $35,000, which will bring the total amount raised in the 15 years of the campaign up to $350,000.

Miller said they are already seeing very positive progress, “This year is off to a great start, we have already raised $23,500, about 67 per cent of our goal, by the launch of the campaign.”

On average, 2,000 meals are delivered in December by Meals on Wheels.
