Two Coaldale residents charged with weapons offences

COALDALE, AB – RCMP in Coaldale have charged two people with weapons offences.

Police said that at around 2:30 a.m. on November 26, 2023, they received a report of a disturbance at a local residence. The RCMP said that on arrival, two men were found in a vehicle outside the home.

Police detained one of the men as he was reportedly the subject of the disturbance complaint.

The RCMP noted that its investigation led to the arrest of the second person in the vehicle, for possession of a controlled substance.

Coaldale resident Scott Conine, 41, has been charged with the following:

  • Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine
  • Five counts of possess a prohibited firearm

Meanwhile, 44-year-old Coaldale resident Robert McDonald has been charged with:

  • Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine
  • Careless use of a firearm
  • Careless use of a firearm

Both men are set to appear in Lethbridge court on December 7.
