Dec 18, 2023 | 2:40 PM

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) is asking for help in the investigation of the destruction of property they say was motivated by hate.

On December 16, 2023, at around 3:30 a.m., officers responded to an incident where part of a north Lethbridge business’s entranceway window was shattered. The LPS said a political message was spray-painted in red on a nearby exterior wall.

According to police, video evidence further revealed that one person was responsible for the damage. However, the suspect did not try to enter the building.

Due to the political nature of the graffiti, the LPS has deemed this to be a hate-motivated offence.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the LPS has 403-328-4444 and reference file 23028949. Tips can also be submitted anonymously to Crime Stoppers online or by calling 1-800-222-8477.
