LETHBRIDGE, AB – UPDATE (Dec. 27, 2023) Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services (LFES) responded to a multi-home fire on Boxing Day.

LFES said it broke out on the afternoon of December 26, 2023, on the 100 block of Iroquois Crescent West. A total of 30 firefighters and 11 fire apparatus from five stations responded.

The fire department said three homes were impacted.

“The first arriving crews found one house fully engulfed in flames which, due to high winds, quickly spread to the neighbouring homes on either side,” said LFES in a media release.

Crews were able to keep the flames from spreading to a fourth residence, but say the three impacted houses received “significant damage.”

No injuries were reported, but damages are estimated at approximately $2 million.

The case of the fire has yet to be determined and remains under investigation.
