Lethbridge’s Parascak named December’s WHL Rookie of the Month

PRINCE GEORGE, BC – An athlete from Lethbridge has been recognized for his on-ice efforts by the Western Hockey League (WHL).

Forward Terik Parascak of the Prince George Cougars has been named the WHL Rookie of the Month for December, 2023. This marks the second time this season Parascak has won the award, having received the honour for September/October.

The 17-year-old from Lethbridge recorded 16 points (four goals, 12 assists) and a plus-13 rating in 11 games in December. He recorded points in nine of those 11 games, including an eight-game point-scoring streak (four goals, 10 assists) from December 3 to December 28.

Parascak has 57 total points on the 2023-2024 season as of January 4, 2023, with 26 goals and 31 assists in 37 games. His 26 goals also have him tied for fifth in scoring across the whole league.

On December 18, the 5’11” rookie was named the Kal Tire WHL Rookie of the Week after scoring three goals and dishing out four assists across three games. That was the fourth time Parascak was named the league’s Rookie of the Week.

Additionally, Parascak was named to the roster for the 2024 Kubota CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game. He was also given a rating of ‘B’ by NHL Central Scouting in the preliminary Players to Watch List for the 2024 NHL Draft.
