BILD Lethbridge announces latest Hall of Fame inductees

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The latest inductees to the Building Industry & Land Development Association (BILD) Lethbridge Region have been announced.

Tom and Linda Dixon of Logic Lumber will be celebrated by BILD next month.

The Hall of Fame recognizes outstanding contributions in the residential construction industry through leadership and positive impacts on the association and community.

The Dixons are both from Saskatchewan and met in 1965. In 1967, they relocated to Calgary.

BILD noted that Tom, who passed away on October 5, 2022, initially became a forklift operator at a wholesale lumber company in the city, eventually moving to a sales position.

In 1973, while working for Northern Eau Claire Lumber, he was relocated to Lethbridge to manage the branch. A few years later, he and Linda teamed with partners to establish Logic Lumber and Truss.

In 1984, the company underwent an amicable split. This resulted in the creation of Timber Tech Truss and Logic Lumber Ltd.

Originally, Logic Lumber operated out of a location on 31 Street North, from 1984 to 2005, when the company moved to its current location on 39 Street North.

BILD said the Dixons have supported various charitable causes in the community, demonstrating an interest in horse racing and providing support to the Rocky Mountain Turf Club. The organization said the duo’s passions extended to the Lethbridge Air Show and the Dixon Memorial Classic Car Show, where all proceeds benefit the Interfaith Food Bank.

Following Tom’s passing in 2022, Linda and their son, Kevin, continue to manage Logic Lumber. The company is entering its 40^th year of operation in Lethbridge.

Dave Kunst, president of BILD Lethbridge said, “The residential construction industry, and the BILD membership specifically, boasts the most incredible leaders and we are proud to welcome Tom & Linda Dixon to the Hall of Fame.”

Kunst added, “Their contributions to the industry and their connection to the association and the community spans over 50 years.”

Linda Dixon will be inducted, on behalf of herself and Tom, at the BILD Lethbridge Region’s Awards of Excellence in Housing Gala on February 9, 2024.

Dixon said, “”I am touched and honoured to receive the Hall of Fame award. I sincerely appreciate this meaningful recognition.”
