Applications open to join Lethbridge MP’s Youth Advisory Board
LETHBRIDGE, AB – Youths in the community are invited to apply for Rachael Thomas’ Youth Advisory Board (YAB).
The Member of Parliament for Lethbridge will put together a group of eight people aged 16 to 24 who will share their perspectives and advise her on federal legislation, as well as “the big issues impacting Canadians.”
“This is my eighth year of hosting a Youth Advisory Board. When I was elected as the Member of Parliament for Lethbridge, I made it my mission to empower young people by giving them a voice at the table,” said Thomas. “We need young people to take responsibility for their communities, engage in productive conversation on the topics that matter most to them, and offer their energy and creativity with unrelenting fervency.”
People who live in the federal Lethbridge riding, which includes the City of Lethbridge, Lethbridge County, Coaldale, Picture Butte, Nobleford, Barons, and Coalhurst are eligible to join the YAB. Thomas said the board is non-partisan and that those of all backgrounds are welcome to apply.
