LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) has apprehended two suspects who were wanted in connection to a series of break and enters.

On Tuesday, February 13, 2024, officers attended a business on the 3000 block of 30 Street North.

Police say several business vehicles had been entered and a significant quantity of tools were stolen. Thanks to video surveillance footage, two suspects were arrested later that day.

The suspects were taken into custody without incident and the stolen items were recovered.

Leon Steven Cugnet, 50, of Lethbridge, and Darren Scott Trimble, 53, of Lethbridge, each face one count of shop-breaking and commit theft.

Cugnet was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on March 26.

The LPS said Trimble was also wanted in connection to other break and enters that occurred in the city, dating as far back as early January 2024. He faces three counts of mischief to property, as well as two counts of break and enter and one count each of trafficking in stolen property, housebreaking, and commit mischief.

Trimble remains in custody and is awaiting a bail hearing.
