LETHBRIDGE, AB – You might notice a bit of a funky smell or flavour to your water over the next few weeks.
The City of Lethbridge says its water treatment plant has recently had to increase chlorine dosages to ensure proper treatment because of the spring run-off.
Officials advise that residential water is safe to drink while the treatment is underway and water can be used as normal, despite the off-smelling odour or taste.
The City says the temporary odour and taste of the water will clear up and return to normal in the coming weeks as the treatment takes effect.
