LETHBRIDGE, AB – Get set to party in downtown!

The 6th Street Block Party is set to return to Lethbridge after a successful first outing in 2023. This year’s event is set for Saturday, June 15, 2024 from 12 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. in Festival Square.

WESTCO Construction will serve as the presenting sponsor, and officials say due to the excitement and growth stemming from last summer’s party, the June event will shut down an additional street, with the two streets connecting Festival Square closed off, along with a third to expand the market portion of the celebration.

The closure will be in effect on June 15 from 7 a.m. to midnight and includes 3 Avenue from 5 to 7 streets, 6 Street from 3 to 4 avenues, and 4 Avenue from 6 to 7 streets.

Officials say the party was designed to highlight local businesses and talent.

The event will feature a poker run encouraging party-goers to visit various downtown businesses, along with live entertainment, food vendors, the market, kids’ and community zone and a beer garden.

The Festival Square stage will play host to many artists, with Cody Hall headlining the event. There will also be a question-and-answer sessions with Canadian authors Genevieve Graham and Dale Leckie.

The live entertainment schedule is as follows:

  • 12:00PM – Charlie Navarti
  • 1:15PM – Author Q&A with Analog Books feat. Genevieve Graham and Dale Leckie
  • 2:30PM – Wacky Trent the Magician
  • 3:15PM – TBD
  • 4:15PM – HEYJACK
  • 5:30PM – Max Hopkins & Band
  • 6:45PM – Midnight Channel
  • 8:00PM – Tyson Ray Borsboom
