LETHBRIDGE, AB – The City of Lethbridge is holding a series of environmental education events.

The City’s Parks & Cemeteries and Water, Wastewater & Stormwater teams are hosting a series of events called Environment Blitz Days. The three days will give residents the opportunity to learn about environmental programs and participate in family friendly activities.

The events include information about:

  • Adopt-A-Storm Drain
  • Yellow Fish Road
  • Aquatic invasive species
  • Adopt-A-Park

Those who attend can learn about the importance of keeping storm drains clear of debris and pollutants. The City says there will also be an artistic component, with the painting of yellow fish by storm drains.

A park litter cleanup is also planned as part of the initiative.

The events take place over the following days:

  • Tuesday, June 18 – Firelight Pond, 64 Firelight Way West
  • Tuesday, July 16 – Chinook Lake, 265 Bluefox Boulevard West
  • Tuesday, August 20 – Coulee Creek Park, 465 Coulee Creek Boulevard South

All events are weather permitting, and will not be held if it is raining.
