Lethbridge Hurricanes name Matt Anholt Associate Head Coach

LETHBRIDGE, AB – A member of the Lethbridge Hurricanes’ leadership team has received a new promotion.

Matt Anholt will serve as the club’s Associate Head Coach and Assistant General Manager, signing a two-year contract extension.

He has spent six years with the Canes in a variety of roles, including Skills & Development Coach, Assistant Coach, and most recently, Assistant Coach and Assistant General Manager.

Originally from Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Anholt represented the Hurricanes at the World U-17 Hockey Challenge last season, serving as an Assistant Coach with Canada Red U17.

The team also announced that it has signed two-year extensions with Assistant Coach Ryan Aasman, Athletic Therapist Marty Palechuk, and Equipment Manager Rhett White.

Aasman enters his fourth year with the Hurricanes, first joining in 2021-22 as a Video Coach before being promoted to Assistant Coach.

Palechuck was welcomed into the team in 2016-17, working as the Athletic Therapist for eight seasons. He previously won a WHL Championship with the Kootenay ICE in 2010-11.

White has also been with the Hurricanes for eight years. He represented Canada at the 2013 World Junior-A Hockey Challenge.
