Severe Thunderstorm Watch issued for parts of southern Alberta

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for parts of southern Alberta as of June 21, 2024.

Environment Canada says conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts and large hail.

The storms are expected to begin in the afternoon, producing “severe weather”, and will move east throughout the day.

Affected areas include the Lethbridge area, as well as Brooks, Medicine Hat and Calgary.
