Suspect wanted following shooting in Brocket

BROCKET, AB – The RCMP is asking for the public’s help in locating a suspect.

At approximately 7:20 a.m. on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, the Piikani Nation RCMP received reports of shots being fired in the Brocket townsite.

Shortly afterward, officers say they found a man with a gunshot wound on his foot.

The suspect has been identified as Mitchel Brandon, 32, of Lethbridge.

Brandon is described as 5’6″, 170 lbs, and has a fair complexion, brown hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing all black clothing, including a Helly Hansen jacket and a Chicago Bulls hat.

He faces 11 charges, including

  • Aggravated assault
  • Discharge firearm with intent
  • Careless use of a firearm
  • Pointing a firearm
  • Possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle
  • Using a firearm in the commission of an offence
  • Firearms possession contrary to order (x3)
  • Possession of a firearm while unauthorized
  • Driving while prohibited

The RCMP believes the suspect was driving a 1996 white Chevrolet Suburban K2500 with the Alberta license plate CAC 453.
