LETHBRIDGE, AB – Lethbridge Police are investigating a motorcycle crash that sent a man to the hospital.

On Tuesday, July 9, 2024, LPS received a report of a collision along Highway 3 and 30 Street North.

An investigation determined a male riding a motorcycle was travelling westbound on Highway 3 when it collided with an eastbound Honda Civic that proceeded to turn northbound and clear the intersection. CCTV footage showed that the motorcycle sped up to beat the light before the collision.

The man driving the bike was transported to Chinook Regional Hospital in stable condition and the investigation is ongoing.

The incident is one of multiple investigated by LPS this year, including a fatal collision on Canada Day. They are urging motorcycle drivers to follow the rules of the road, wear an approved helmet, eye protection and gloves, and always be aware of your surroundings.
