LETHBRIDGE, AB – It will still be hot outside, but not like what we have seen for the last few days.

Environment Canada has ended the heat warning for some parts of southern Alberta as of Friday morning, July 12, 2024. It was first enacted on Sunday and covered the entire province.

Communities such as Lethbridge, Taber, Cardston, Crowsnest Pass and Claresholm are no longer included in the heat warning.

However, some of the areas that still face a heat warning include Medicine Hat, Bow Island, the County of Newell, Cypress County, and Vulcan. In those regions, temperature will be near 30 degrees Celsius friday and Saturday. Overnight lows will be around 15.

The weather forecaster says heat records were set in Lethbridge, Milk River and Taber on Thursday. Among the three, Taber got the hottest at 36 degrees, toppling the community’s previous record from 2002.
