New West Theatre presents their show “Totally 80s”

Lethbridge’s New West Theatre will be opening its doors on August 7 for their newest production, called “Totally 80’s”, premiering at 7:30 p.m.

The production is supposed to make the audience feel like they are being transported back into the 1980s.

Artistic Director Kelly Reay said, “We chose the 80s show largely because there’s a lot of untouched material by New West Theatre. We’ve done a lot of 80s numbers through the years but we’ve never done a show that’s explicitly of the era.”

He expressed that this era is unique and fertile in terms of the material one can get from it.

One of the actors, Alinafe Lupwayi, said, “The music is incredible and then there’s obviously so many different avenues you can go down when you talk and think about the 80s. But I feel like Kelly’s direction was amazing and we have just uptempo fun music that people will really really love.”

Tickets are available online or in person at the Yates Ticket Centre, and the show will be on from August 7-24.
