Environment Canada warning of wildfire smoke in much of southern Alberta
Wildfires in Alberta and B.C. are expected to bring smoke into the southern region.
Environment Canada has issued an air quality advisory for the southeastern corner of Alberta, including communities such as Medicine Hat and Foremost.
They say smoke is causing or is expected to cause “very poor air quality and reduced visibility.” This can change periodically from hour-to-hour, depending on the conditions.
Other areas, including Lethbridge, Taber, Milk River, Brooks, Claresholm and Calgary, are under a special air quality statement. It is similar to the air quality advisory but is less severe.
