Lethbridge sees big decrease in water usage from 2023
LETHBRIDGE, AB – The City of Lethbridge says its efforts to conserve water this year have greatly paid off.
City officials say water usage has decreased 16 per cent this summer compared to the summer of 2024 and is down nine per cent over the five-year average.
Farmers from Lethbridge County are also being recognized for doing their part by making do with less irrigation this season.
Since Lethbridge is in a water-sharing agreement with the Oldman watershed along with many other major water users, city officials are telling residents to continue to conserve water when possible.
