Hurricanes claim 4-1 win over Medicine Hat to kick off pre-season

LETHBRIDGE, AB – It was a successful first outing for the Lethbridge Hurricanes.

They welcomed the Medicine Hat Tigers to the VisitLethbridge.com Arena on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 for their pre-season opener.

The Canes claimed a 4-1 victory, thanks in part to a pair of goals from Kai Anderson, who was named the first star of the game.

The Tigers were the first to hit the net at 12:52 in the first period, but it was all Lethbridge from there.

Anderson scored twice in the second period with Tyden Lafournaise providing assists in each, while Landen Ward got a point 1:27 into the third period.

Chase Petersen scored the final goal of the game with just 15 seconds remaining.

Lethbridge’s win came despite being outshot 16-6.

Next up for the Hurricanes, they continue pre-season action on Saturday, September 7 as they travel to Red Deer to take on the Rebels.

The Canes return to Lethbridge on Friday, September 13, as the will face the visiting Calgary Hitmen.
