Milk River emergency department to temporarily close Thursday

MILK RIVER, AB – Alberta Health Services (AHS) has confirmed another temporary closure of the Milk River Health Centre Emergency Department.

The ED will close from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 12, 2024. Officials said the closure is due to a lack of physician coverage.

Nursing staff will remain on-site during the temporary closure to provide care for long-term care residents.

Patients are asked to call 911 if they have a medical emergency, with EMS calls being re-routed to the Raymond Health Centre or Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge.

Anybody seeking care can access emergency services at the facilities listed above.
