Lethbridge County lifts fire restriction

Sep 19, 2024 | 9:26 AM

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Burning activities are once again allowed in Lethbridge County.

They say cooler temperatures and moisture have deceased the risk of fires spreading.

Residents can now apply for permits.

Despite the weather getting better, officials are reminding the public to still be careful when conducting any kind of burning.

“With harvest well underway, it is not uncommon for fires to be unintentionally started by hot equipment in fields. Using caution when burning and applying for a permit keeps fire resources from being diverted from emergencies like these,” reads a notice from Lethbridge County.

Most jurisdictions in southern Alberta still have fire advisories or restrictions. More details are available on AlbertaFireBans.ca
