LETHBRIDGE, AB – There’s plenty of events in the area this weekend, and Lethbridge News Now has all the details.

Rhythm & Brews: A Summer Music Series – September 20, 2024

Head over to Festival Square on Friday night for Rhythm and Blues, a series of live performances. The event begins at 5:00, and features the following lineup:

5pm – A Band Called Cadence

6:15pm – Jolene Draper & The Inquisitive Few

7:30pm – The Decadent Phase

In addition, a food truck will be at the event. It is free and family friendly.

Lethbridge Hurricanes vs. Edmonton Oil Kings – September 20, 2024

The Lethbridge Hurricanes kick off their 2024-25 regular season with a game against the Edmonton Oil Kings at the VisitLethbridge.com Arena. The Hurricanes are coming off a season where they finished seventh in the Eastern Conference, but lost in the first round to Swift Current. Puck drop is at 7:00, and a pre-game tailgate will take place from 5:00 to 6:45.

Pronghorns softball tournament – September 20-22, 2024

The University of Lethbridge Pronghorns softball team is among the eight teams competing in their league play tournament at the Quads-Baseball and Soccer Fields from Friday, September 20 to Sunday, September 22. The Pronghorns are in the midst of a very successful season, finishing with a 5-0 record in last weekend’s tournament in Regina to move them into first place in the league with a 10-4-1 record.

Lethbridge Farmers Market – Saturdays

The weekly market will run at the Lethbridge & District Agri-Food Hub & Trade Centre every Saturday until October 12.

Word On The Street Lethbridge – September 21, 2024

Celebrate reading and literacy with the Lethbridge Public Library on Saturday at Word on the Street. The event features presents established and emerging authors, storytellers, workshops ,and other activities. It takes place outside the downtown branch beginning at 11:00. Afro Fest – September 21, 2024

Celebrate the vibrant cultures, traditions, and talents of Africa at Afro Fest at Galt Gardens on Saturday. The festival is full of music, dance, art, and cuisine to showcase the diversity of the African continent. Tickets can be purchased here.

Parade of Homes – September 21-October 6, 2024

BILD Lethbridge is gearing up to host the 2024 Parade of Homes from September 21 to October 6. Executive Officer Bridget Mearns explains that it is a showcase of 12 “stunning” new homes in six Lethbridge neighbourhoods. Visitors can enter a draw to win a Backyard Prize Package valued over $3,000.

Lethbridge 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb – September 22, 2024

The Lethbridge 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb takes place on Sunday at the Melcor Centre. The goal is to complete the ascent and descent of 110 stories, the distance equivalent to the height of the World Trade Centre Towers as they stood before the attacks of 9/11. The public can donate for the event, at the Lethbridge Firefighters website.
