The Crowsnest Pass Music Festival – a member of the Alberta Music Festival Association – is approaching its 100th anniversary in the Spring of 2025.

The Crownest Pass Music Festival was originally started as a Sunday School initiative in 1924. It then paused in 1944 due to the World War ll and commenced again in 1953.

The committee consists of a group of volunteers who sacrifice their own time in order to organize a successful event for local musical talent each year.

People from all backgrounds and ages can join to have the chance to perform in front of an audience as well as an adjudicator. Adjudicators come from all over Canada and North America to provide their expert pointers, encouragement and a chance to be recommended for Provincial Music Festival in Edmonton.

In celebration of their 100th festival, they will be having many festivities including special performances, souvenirs for participants, as well as a 1920’s dress-themed gala paired with birthday cake at the grand concert, which will be held on March 28, 2025.

This year, they are encouraging people to submit historical photos and documents to be included in the slideshow for the evening of the gala. More details about the event can be found on their website.
