LETHBRIDGE, AB – New updates are coming to the Fritz Sick Pool in Lethbridge.

The City says the new updates will provide a safer and more comfortable visitor experience for users.

They include:

  • Barrier-free showers and toilet stalls
  • Two additional women’s showers (five total) plus a universal shower
  • Widened access points to the pool and locker rooms
  • New open and accessible entrance into a larger lobby with a barrier-free counter
  • Non-slip flooring throughout all locker, washroom and shower areas
  • Updated wheelchair ramps

To accommodate construction, Fritz Sick Pool will close at the end of the day Friday, November 1. All programs held at the pool will move to Stan Siwik Pool and Nicholas Sheran Pool in the meantime.

The $90,000 upgrades, which come from the City’s Facility Assessment and Accessibility Upgrades and City Lifecycle budgets, are expected to be done by the end of February 2025.
