Christmas Tree Festival returns in Lethbridge

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Chinook Regional Hospital Foundation (CRHF) says it is becoming an annual Christmas tradition for many.

The non-profit is hosting its 30th annual Christmas Tree Festival at the VisitLethbridge.com Arena.

A total of 22 fantastically-decorated trees and a multitude of live auction items are on display.

CRHF CEO Crystal Elliott says they are unlike any other Christmas trees she has seen before.

“You need to come out and buy tickets to see the Toy Story one, the [Chinook Woodturning] Guild, a multitude of other businesses who have come together and provided – Stringam Law, as our presenting sponsor, their decorating team did a beautiful northern lights tree,” says Elliott.

Elliott told LNN that she could not pick a favorite tree as they were all so good.

She says she keeps hearing from attendees at the event that people are making this an annual tradition and she was pleased to hear that.

The Christmas Tree Festival raises money for local healthcare needs, with funding going towards the CRHF, Coaldale Health Centre, and other southern Alberta initiatives.

“We buy equipment, special projects, and support different programs within those health areas. Without each and every donor, we as the philanthropic partner for Chinook Regional Hospital couldn’t do it,” says Elliott.

Public viewings for the Christmas trees take place Tuesday, November 19 from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The gala and auction goes Wednesday, November 20 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
