LETHBRIDGE, AB – As the Government of Alberta is changing photo radar regulations, the Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) is adding new locations.

Starting on January 13, 2025, photo radar will be added to 42 playground zones in the city. They will be in effect each day from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

The full list of new locations is below:

The province announced earlier this month that it would be putting an end to the so-called “photo radar cash cow.”

Automated traffic enforcement devices will be restricted to just school, playground and construction zones as of April 1, 2025.

A ban on new photo radar locations has been lifted, so while LPS had to remove 27 sites that were no longer in compliance with the new provincial rules, it is now able to add these new ones.
