LPS Chief Mehdizadeh presented with King Charles III coronation medal
LETHBRIDGE, AB – Lethbridge Police Service’s Chief of Police has received a high honour.
On Monday, January 27, 2025, Nathan Neudorf, MLA for Lethbridge-East presented the King Charles III Coronation Medal to Shahin Mehdizadeh. The award recognizes 30,000 individuals across the country who have made a difference in their communities.
Neudorf nominated Mehdizadeh for his outstanding contributions to public safety and crime prevention, and said, “Chief Mehdizadeh has demonstrated remarkable leadership, taking the time to listen, andfostering a sense of unity between our community and our police service. His dedication and service have truly transformed Lethbridge for the better.”
Mehdizadeh has spent over 35 years in service both nationally and internationally, beginning his career with the RCMP in 1989. He began his role as Chief of the Lethbridge Police on August 31, 2020, and was given the Blackfoot name “Mako’yi Tooma” (Wolf Butte).
