Lethbridge man charged with child sexual assault, may be additional victims

Feb 19, 2025 | 9:13 AM

The Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) is asking anyone who may have been victimized by a local man to come forward.

This follows the arrest of a suspect who allegedly sexually assaulted an 11-year-old boy at a swimming pool.

On February 10, 2025, police were called to Stan Siwik Pool on the 1900 block of 15 Avenue North.

According to the investigation by LPS, the man allegedly approached the child in the men’s changing room and sexually assaulted him.

He was arrested the following day.

Quan Phuoc Tran, 66, of Lethbridge, is charged with sexual assault and sexual interference.

Tran was released from custody with conditions preventing him from attending Stan Siwik Pool and any other public park, swimming area, daycare, school ground, playground or community centre where people under 18 may be present. He is also prohibited from having any contact with the victim and anyone else under 18, except for immediate family members.

LPS says they learned that there may be additional victims, which is why they released a photo of the suspect. Anyone who has had a similar encounter with Tran is asked to phone LPS at 403-328-4444 and reference file 25002388.

He is scheduled to appear in court on March 25.
