Physicians close Bow Island and Foremost practices, County of Forty Mile says

Mar 18, 2025 | 1:44 PM

A pair of physicians that served southern Alberta have closed their practices, officials say.

Doctors Joy and Andrew Okoror worked at the Bow Island and Foremost medical clinics.

They closed their practices due to “unforeseen circumstances” as of March 12, according to a County of Forty Mile news release.

The Foremost clinic will be temporarily closed until a new physician is available, the release says.

Alberta Health Services and local officials are working to “resolve the vacancy” the doctors leave, it adds.

Attempts by CHAT News to contact the Bow Island Medical Clinic by phone were not immediately successful.

The two doctors came to Bow Island in fall 2023 as one physician retired and another moved on, according to a town document.

This is a developing story. More details to follow.
