River use advisory near Peenaquim Dog Park

The City of Lethbridge is advising residents to exercise caution when using the river near Peenaquim Dog Park over the next 24 hours.
Officials say an unknown quantity of fire suppression concentrate is currently exiting the wastewater treatment plant through its outfall.
The city says, however, there is no impact on the city’s potable (drinking) water system.
This advisory is precautionary and will remain in effect for 24 hours. Resident cooperation is appreciated as the city continues to monitor the situation.
