Drugs worth more than a quarter of a million dollars have been seized in Medicine Hat.

The Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team (ALERT) says its local organized crime team seized 1,010 grams of cocaine and 800 grams of fentanyl, along with smaller amounts of methamphetamine and cash, as well as two vehicles.

Staff Sgt. Ryan Thorburn says, “This would rank as one of the largest fentanyl seizures in Medicine Hat, and we [are] already seeing an impact on the drug’s supply in the community. Working with our partners, we have prioritized fentanyl investigations and this seizure is the latest example of the success we are having.”

Officers claim to have found the items at a home in the Flats neighbourhood on June 13, 2025.

Bowers remains in custody while Jones and Bayers have been released.
