Alberta government launches new grant to support survivors of gender-based violence
The provincial government has introduced a grant aimed at supporting survivors of gender-based violence.
The Community Pathways to Justice grant is expected to help community organizations and Indigenous communities, “enhance access to justice and provide survivor-centered services.”
With up to $1.25 million in funding, the grant is a part of the Alberta government’s 10-year strategy to put an end to gender-based violence. They hope to accomplish this by preventing harm, holding offenders accountable, and supporting those impacted.
The province says the grant supports programs that focus on victim support, education and awareness, legal navigation, system coordination, and restorative justice.
