The Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) has apprehended a woman accused of abusing her one-year-old son.

In May 2024, police say the child was taken to Chinook Regional Hospital with life-threatening injuries and later transported to a children’s hospital.

LPS says its investigation determined the boy had sustained “significant blunt force trauma” and other injuries while in the care of his mother.

The mother was charged in late 2024, and an arrest warrant was issued.

On Aug. 11, 2025, LPS says a woman was arrested in connection with the alleged incident.

Delia Teri Joy Grey, 44, is charged with aggravated assault, failing to provide the necessaries of life, and criminal negligence causing bodily harm.

LPS says the investigation is ongoing and that it will not be providing any further information at this time.
