The race for Lethbridge City Council continues to grow.

Kaitte Aurora is vying for one of eight seats in the 2025 municipal election, set to take place from October 8-20.

She provided the following answers to an LNN questionnaire:

Why did you want to run for Lethbridge City Council?

I am a progressive populist, and I am running for city council because I sincerely desire to see everyone thrive. I reject the idea that we have to allow wealthy elites to hoard all the benefits of society for themselves while things get steadily worse for the rest of us.

What personal or professional experience do you have that you feel would make you a good city councillor?

I have an extensive personal history that includes everything from construction day-labour to managing engineering projects and community activism. I have the heart of a worker and professional experience in process improvement, project leadership, and systems-level thinking. My unique blend of skills, experiences, and passion makes me well-suited to the work of a city councillor.

What would be a few of your top priorities if elected?

My number one priority is improving affordability in Lethbridge. To do so, I’ve created a platform designed to address the systemic problems driving skyrocketing housing costs, worsening traffic congestion, lackluster local communities, and unfair taxation.

Is there anything else you would like to add?

If I can ask one single thing of you, I will ask you to do something radical: I will ask you to care. Care for your family, care for your community, and care for your city. We can solve the very real problems that are making life increasingly miserable and unaffordable, and in doing so, we can make Lethbridge better for everyone 🙂.
