Advance voting opens Thursday in Coaldale

Residents of Coaldale will have their first opportunities to decide who their next mayor, councillors and school board trustee should be.

The first day of advance voting in the 2025 municipal election in Coaldale is Thursday, Oct. 9.

Eligible voters will be able to go to the Coaldale Community Centre between 2:00 and 8:00 p.m. on Oct. 9, 11, 14 and 18.

The voting time on the general election day of Oct. 20 is 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., which also occurs at the same venue.

Two people are running for mayor – incumbent Jack Van Rijn and Henry Doeve.

Council candidates include Jacen Abrey, Jason Beekman, Eric Berns, Bill Chapman, Brent Ginther, Dale Pickering, Lisa Reis, Jordan Sailer, and Gary Scherer.

There are also two people running for separate school board trustee – Frances Cote and Kevin Joseph Kinahan.
