CPKC Holiday Train returns to Alberta in December

Canada’s most festively decorated train will make its return to the region later this year.

Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) Rail has announced the schedule for its 2025 Holiday Train.

It will make the following stops in southern Alberta:

  • Airdrie
    • Dec. 9 from 5:30-6:00 p.m.
    • Nose Creek Park
  • Calgary
    • Dec. 12 from 7:00-7:30 p.m.
    • Anderson C-Train Station
  • Okotoks
    • Dec. 13 from 12:15-12:45 p.m.
    • Daggett Street between Veterans Way and Northridge Drive
  • Blackie
    • Dec. 13 from 1:45-2:15 p.m.
    • 1201 Railway Avenue
  • Vulcan
    • Dec. 13 from 3:30-4:00 p.m.
    • 1st Avenue and 2nd Street
  • Lethbridge
    • Dec. 13 from 7:15-7:45 p.m.
    • 2 Avenue North and 12 Street, adjacent to London Drugs
  • Fort Macleod
    • Dec. 14 from 9:15-9:45 a.m.
    • 5 Avenue railway crossing
  • Pincher Creek
    • Dec. 14 from 10:45-11:15 a.m.
    • 3 Avenue railway crossing at Highway 3
  • Coleman
    • Dec. 14 from 12:45-1:15 p.m.
    • 17 Avenue and 69 Street
  • Medicine Hat
    • Dec. 21 from 3:15-3:45 p.m.
    • Queen and North Railway St. East of CPKC Station
  • Tilley
    • Dec. 21 from 5:30-6:00 p.m.
    • Southeast side of crossing Highway 867
  • Brooks
    • Dec. 21 from 6:40-7:10 p.m.
    • 1 Avenue, rear of Civic Building
  • Gleichen
    • Dec. 21 from 8:45-9:15 p.m.
    • 3 Avenue and Crowfoot Street

The stops from Dec. 9-14 will feature the headlining musical artists Barenaked Ladies.

Barenaked Ladies lead singer Ed Robertson says, “I can’t imagine a better way to visit some of Canada’s beautiful mountain towns than by riding the CPKC Holiday Train. It’s going to be a great time for a great cause!”

The ones on Dec. 21 will feature Lanco and Tiera Kennedy.

The CPKC Holiday Train also serves as a fundraiser for food banks in each of the communities where it ventures.

Since 1999, the event has raised more than $26 million and over 5.4 million pounds of food in Canada and the U.S.
